Careers Directory (contributor created content)

In the first in what will be regularly featured content, we’re showcasing work that has been sent over to us from the Careers Leader community. The first resource comes from Vickie Smith and Eleanor Corcoran from Harris Academy St John’s Wood.

Vickie briefly explains below, the purpose, use and distribution method of the Careers Directory:

We created this resource to accompany our Year 9 options booklet as well as our Year 11 next steps information. It allows students to see some of the careers specific subjects could lead them to.

It also serves as a useful tool for staff when embedding careers into the curriculum, as they can choose a career for their subject to “spotlight” during lessons in our half-termly Careers Weeks.

This document was shared electronically via email to all students as well as being on the website. It has also been shared with parents to support them in having conversations about careers with their children.

We collected the links from a variety of websites we know to be excellent resources for careers information and by including these links we also hope to bring them to the attention of our students, so they might further explore these fantastic websites.

Please get in touch if you would like an editable version of the Careers Directory*. Thank to Vickie and Eleanor for sharing this resource with us.

We would love to share more great practice across this network. Please contact us below if you have something you would like shared:
